Hot Chillys System Bras: Now with a Silver Lining

New BioSilver - a technological breakthrough fabric using ionized silver yarns to reduce odors naturally - is now used exclusively in the lining of Hot Chillys’ System bras. Proprietary to Hot Chillys, BioSilver has a unique molecular structure that differentiates it from other silver-containing fabrics on the market.

While there are a few fabrics on the market using silver technology, none is made the way BioSilver is, explained Guy Wells, president of Hot Chillys. Instead of just coating the yarn with silver ions, with BioSilver, the silver particles are actually submerged into the solution that’s mixed into the spinning of the yarn. Due to this unique spinning process, BioSilver has a much softer hand and richer color dying capabilities than fabrics with silver coating on the outside of the yarns, he said.

In addition, since the spinning process does not change the properties of the yarn, the finished fabric is compatible with Hot Chillys well-known moisture management treatment. Still another advantage is that BioSilver can be dyed, said Wells. The enhancement of a BioSilver lining in the System bras tops an already impressive list of features for the bras, engineered to be like no other sports bra on the market. Noteworthy features include a high modulus, soft plush Hot Chilly embroidered chest elastic for a more comfortable fit and high Lycra content for added non-restrictive support.

The bras also use synergistic stabilizing systems to provide excellent motion control without chafing as well as a cup encapsulation system that separates and holds each breast into place. They also get high marks for their flattering and supportive fit that doesn’t bind, compress or chafe.
